FBL-EUR-C1-MAN CITY-REAL MADRID

A news report released today revealed the position of the veteran French coach, “Zinedine Zidane,” the former Real Madrid coach, regarding the possibility of experiencing the English Premier League, specifically coaching Manchester City in the future.

Previous reports indicated that Manchester City is considering the possibility of their current coach, “Pep Guardiola,” leaving, and that they are targeting “Enzo Maresca,” the Chelsea coach, as a potential replacement for him, with “Zidane” being mentioned as one of the potential candidates.

However, according to journalist “Fabrizio Romano,” an expert in the transfer market, the French coach has not shown any interest in coaching any team in England, and this remains his position so far.

Last week, “The Athletic” newspaper published a report stating that the Manchester City management expects “Pep Guardiola” to leave the team next summer, although his current contract extends until June 2027.

If “Guardiola” leaves, “Enzo Maresca,” the current coach of Chelsea, will be at the top of the list of candidates to succeed him in coaching City.

It is worth mentioning that “Zinedine Zidane” has not held any coaching position since leaving Real Madrid in 2021.

Regarding the possibility of “Zidane” working in the English Premier League, “Fabrizio” stated: “At this stage, I say no… because he has never been interested in coaching Premier League clubs, even in the past when he was completely free.”

He added: “He had opportunities, we remember his name being linked to Manchester United many years ago, but Zinedine Zidane has never been tempted to move to the English Premier League. At the moment, he is not a candidate for those positions.”

“Zinedine Zidane” is expected to take over as coach of the French national team, succeeding “Didier Deschamps” after the end of the 2026 World Cup, and according to the Italian journalist, there is a verbal agreement between the winner of the 1998 Ballon d’Or and the French Football Federation.
