المغرب يحتفي باستضافة كأس الأمم الأفريقية بإصدار ورقة بنكية وقطعة فضية تذكاريتين

The Bank of Morocco has announced a special commemorative issue on the occasion of the Kingdom of Morocco hosting the 2025 African Cup of Nations, the thirty-fifth edition.

This issue includes a 250 dirham silver coin, in addition to a new 100 dirham commemorative banknote with a modern design. This step aims to strengthen national identity and highlight Morocco’s position as an important sports center in the African continent.

The central bank confirmed that the silver coin was made entirely in Morocco with purely Moroccan expertise, and it has been offered in limited quantities for circulation alongside other circulating currencies. The coin bears the image of “King Mohammed VI” and some official phrases, in addition to the date of issue written in Arabic and Amazigh.

Regarding the commemorative banknote, its design focuses on modern sports development in Morocco. The paper includes a picture of “The King” and the Kingdom’s emblem, in addition to an illustration of the “Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex” in the city of Rabat, with a map of the African continent and Moroccan decorations, and a football as a symbol of the unity of peoples through sports.
