The “Jbeil Electricity Concession” company issued a statement expressing its “regret for the increasing encroachments on the electrical network by extending private cables for commercial services, under hidden and disguised protections, which is completely unacceptable.”
The company clarified that “these constructions were built over seventy years from our own money to serve subscribers of the Jbeil Electricity Concession and to enable us to provide the best services 24/24 hours,” stressing that “these encroachments pose a danger to public safety and to the technicians of Jbeil Electricity and are punishable by law, and hidden and disguised protections will not benefit them.”
The company announced that it will not “succumb to pressures, regardless of their type and source, and the application of laws is binding on everyone without exception.”
The company pointed out that “coordination is only done with municipalities, and at their request, to extend cables for cameras to ensure public safety for citizens with technical conditions and clear maps that determine the locations, with the provision of special mechanisms for extension that preserve public safety, and that is on a “temporary” basis due to the many thefts and encroachment on private property,” stressing that “every trespasser on the public electrical network commits a “crime” that is subject to “the Penal Code No. 623,” and a report will be issued against him by sworn individuals in the courts, and the encroachments on the electrical networks will be immediately removed.”
The company also announced that it “applies all laws, decrees and decisions issued by the Ministry of Energy, which is our only reference, and anyone who has any objection should go to the Directorate General of Investment at the Ministry of Energy, as the law protects us and protects every institution and every good citizen.”
In conclusion, the company affirmed that: “The law is our refuge, and this is our history.”
