The Forces party in the Keserwan district is witnessing a state of increasing tension and clear discontent within its party ranks, due to the way election-related matters are being managed. There is increasing talk about the possibility of imposing a candidate who does not have any real political or social influence in the Keserwan-Ftouh area, and who does not have sufficient knowledge of the region or local institutions and activities. This has sparked widespread objections among activists and party bases, which have long been a strong foundation for the “Lebanese Forces” in the district.

According to special information, Maarab is promoting the name of Gustave Kordahi to run for the parliamentary seat in Keserwan, with direct support from MP Sethrida Geagea. Information indicates that their acquaintance took place through a wealthy friend, amidst serious attempts to impose this choice on the Forces base, despite the growing objections within the party, especially in Keserwan.

Questions are increasing in Forces circles, noting that the candidate’s uncle, Professor Khalil Dahdah, is considered a prominent figure in the “Free Patriotic Movement” and is responsible for the arbitration council in it, and is known for his close ties to MP Gebran Bassil, which raises political questions about the motives for this nomination and its timing, and its potential effects on the Forces mood in the district.

In contrast, the head of the “Lebanese Forces” party, Samir Geagea, is trying to hint that the final decision has not yet been taken, and that the matter is still under study, while talking about the existence of three names on the table, most notably Shadi Fayyad. However, informed sources confirm that a group from Keserwan directly linked to Maarab is working on the ground to convince area officials of the need to fully comply with the party’s decision and work to promote Kordahi’s name, using a phrase that is repeated in internal meetings: “That’s what the man wants.”

In this context, it was learned that candidate Kordahi tried to contact MP Shawki Daccache to arrange a meeting between them, but the response was brief: “This is not the time,” a position that was understood in political circles as a negative message towards this proposal.

As for the “Free Patriotic Movement”, information indicates that the picture seems clearer in managing the electoral process, compared to the state of confusion and contradictions that currently dominates the Forces scene in Keserwan, awaiting the outcome of the confrontation within the “Forces House”, and whether the objections will succeed in changing the options, or whether the logic of imposition will remain dominant in the decision.
