بين المدفوعات المعلقة: استمرار الارتباك وتصعيد محتمل للمطالبات بعد العطلات!

Amid an atmosphere of anticipation and anxiety prevailing in educational circles, the status of teachers’ entitlements remains unclear, with a noticeable discrepancy between the amounts already disbursed and those still stuck in official drawers, in the absence of any specific timetable that would reassure those concerned.

In this context, a well-informed educational source stated to that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has begun depositing part of the teachers’ entitlements in their bank accounts, but the picture is still unclear, as many allowances and salaries have not yet been disbursed, raising questions about the payment mechanism and sequence.

The source explained that the correction allowance for the second session of the General Secondary School exams has been included in the recent payments, in addition to the correction allowance for the Free Intermediate Certificate session. Monitoring allowances for the first and second sessions, as well as for the Free Intermediate Certificate, have also been disbursed, but these allowances were disbursed without calculating the transportation allowance, which has caused widespread discontent among teachers, especially given the high cost of transportation.

Regarding contracted teachers, the source indicated that the basic contract for the month of October has been deposited, in addition to the transportation allowance for the months of September and October for both basic and basic procedural contractors. As for tenured teachers, they received their regular monthly salaries, in addition to one old bonus out of two due to them from the Ministry of Education, with the second bonus to be disbursed next month, according to the source.

In contrast, the source pointed out that secondary contracted teachers have not had any entitlements deposited for them during this month, and no part of the entitlements of basic and secondary procedural teachers has been disbursed so far. In addition, administrative work allowances have not been paid, which increases the financial pressures on a large segment of workers in the educational sector.

As for school funds, the source explained that they are still under study at the Ministry of Finance, pending completion of the necessary administrative procedures, without specifying a final date for their release. Regarding the payment of those hired, he indicated that it is expected, so far, that this will take place during the first week of February.

The source concluded by emphasizing that this situation reflects the continued confusion in managing the educational entitlements file, calling for the adoption of a clear and transparent payment mechanism, accompanied by a fixed timetable, that guarantees teachers’ rights and alleviates tension, warning that anger is escalating, and that escalation may be the order of the day after the holiday break, which threatens what remains of stability in the school year.
