Liverpool announced today, Monday, in an official statement the latest developments regarding the condition of Swedish striker “Alexander Isak.”

“Isak” suffered an injury during the last match against Tottenham in the English Premier League, as a result of a strong challenge from “Micky van de Ven,” Tottenham defender, while scoring the opening goal for his team in the match that ended with Liverpool winning (2-1).

According to a statement issued by Liverpool, “Isak” underwent successful surgery today to treat the injury he sustained on Saturday.

The statement explained that “Isak” underwent ankle surgery after his injury was diagnosed, and it was found that there was a fracture in the fibula.

“Isak” is expected to continue his rehabilitation program at the “AXA” training center, and his return date to the field has not yet been determined.

While Liverpool’s statement did not specify the period of “Isak’s” absence, reports stated that the player may be out for up to 4 months.
