The browser is currently available through Google Labs in an initial version for macOS and is described by Google as a “discovery tool” that differs from other standalone AI browsers. “Disco” is based on the Chromium platform, making it similar to Google Chrome, but it adds smart assistant tools integrated into the browsing experience.
The “GenTabs” feature allows users to automatically create custom web applications based on open tabs, previous searches, and instructions they provide. For example, the feature can create a personal travel itinerary when planning a trip, or a meal planning interface when searching for food recipes, while compiling information from multiple sources in an integrated manner.
The created applications can also be modified and improved through text dialogue, layout adjustments, adding new information, or changing display formats to suit the user.
Google has begun accepting requests to join the waiting list to try “Disco,” noting that the first version is limited to macOS users. Google confirmed that the browser is still in the experimental phase, and some features may appear unexpectedly during the development process.
