A research analysis by TechInsights shows that Huawei and SMIC, its manufacturing partner, are making significant progress in developing chip production technologies, despite US efforts to restrict this development.
According to Bloomberg, the company stated that the “Kirin 9030” processor used in the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max phone was manufactured using an advanced version of SMIC technology, confirming that this processor represents “the most advanced domestic semiconductor manufacturing technology in China to date.”
The report indicated that the new chip reflects the gradual improvements achieved by SMIC, which is of great importance in expanding its manufacturing capabilities compared to the previous generation.
It is worth noting that the two Chinese companies are subject to US export restrictions that limit their access to semiconductor technology. (Al-Sharq)
