In the context of his discussion of potential alliances, El Khazen clarified during an interview on “Red TV” in the Spectrum program that it is still too early to decide on this matter. However, he indicated that the alliance formed in the municipal elections is likely to be repeated in the parliamentary elections, stating: “It is expected that I will ally with MP Neemat Frem.”
He alluded to enjoying a popular base estimated at 11,000 votes in the Keserwan and Jbeil regions, which guarantees his success in any alliance he enters. He affirmed his confidence in obtaining the same number of votes he won in the 2022 elections during the 2026 elections, stressing that his relationship with his audience is “more than excellent, and is based on friendship and brotherhood.”
El Khazen explained his popularity, saying: “My popularity does not come from politics alone, but from love, belonging, and the historical relationship that binds me to the people.”
He continued, “Today, we support the presidential project and building the state, and I do not regret any of my previous choices.”
He also added: “My audience is convinced that what I am doing is for the benefit of the country first.”
In response to rumors circulating about the possibility that the Kataeb party will not ally with MP Neemat Frem if Farid El Khazen is on the same list, El Khazen stated: “This does not concern me. My relationship with the Kataeb is excellent, my disagreements are respectful, and my alliances are respectful, and I have no problem with the Kataeb. Whoever wants to babble and say such things can babble alone.”
Regarding the possibility of holding the elections on schedule, El Khazen pointed out that if negotiations begin under the leadership of the President of the Republic and under the umbrella of President Nabih Berri in line with the requirements of the international community and the United States of America, these countries are likely to push for postponing the elections, in order to keep President Berri overseeing the negotiation process, given what he represents as a fundamental Shiite cover in this matter.
