Real Madrid continued their series of dropped points in the Spanish League, recording a draw for the third time in a row, this time against Girona with a score of (1-1) in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening at the Montilivi stadium, as part of the fourteenth round of La Liga.

Moroccan player “Azzedine Ounahi” opened the scoring for Girona in the 45th minute, while “Mbappe” equalized for Real Madrid from the penalty spot in the 67th minute.

With this draw, Real Madrid raised their score to 33 points to occupy second place in the league standings, while their traditional rival Barcelona maintained the lead with (34 points).

In contrast, Girona’s score reached 12 points, placing them in eighteenth place.

The beginning of the match witnessed early offensive attempts from both teams, as “Tsygankov” shot a ball from the edge of the penalty area in the first minute, but the defense managed to clear it.

In the fourth minute, “Vinicius” demanded a refereeing error after the ball went out of bounds, but the referee allowed play to continue in favor of Girona.

As time passed, Real Madrid began to possess the ball, and posed the first real threat in the tenth minute with a powerful shot from “Mbappe” that went over the bar, followed by another chance from “Güler” after a pass from “Mbappe” but it went wide of the goal.

In the 15th minute, “Tchouameni” fired a shot from outside the penalty area but it went over the goal, while “Courtois” saved a difficult ball after a dangerous attack by Girona inside the penalty area in the 18th minute.

In the 22nd minute, “Vinicius” tried to score with a shot from inside the area but it went over the bar, followed by attempts from “Mbappe”.

The 36th and 38th minutes witnessed two opportunities for Real Madrid through “Bellingham” and “Valverde”, then “Gazzaniga” shone in saving a header from “Militao” from close range.

“Mbappe” scored a goal for Real Madrid in the 40th minute, but the referee canceled it after referring to video technology due to a handball.

Girona responded quickly before the end of the first half, as in the 45th minute, from a wonderful pass from “Tsygankov”, “Ounahi” fired a powerful shot into the net, which “Courtois” could not save, ending the half with the home team ahead.

With the start of the second half, Real Madrid intensified their attacks, but in the 52nd minute, “Courtois” shone in saving a one-on-one chance from Girona player “Vanat”.

In the 60th minute, another goal for Real Madrid scored by “Vinicius” was canceled for offside.

In the 62nd minute, defender “Arnau Martinez” blocked a dangerous shot from “Vinicius” after a cross from “Trent”, before Real Madrid was awarded a penalty after an intervention from “Hugo Rincon” on “Vinicius” in the 65th minute.

“Mbappe” successfully converted the penalty in the 66th minute, with a shot to the left of the goalkeeper, announcing the equalizer 1-1.
