Spanish coach Cesc Fàbregas, coach of the Italian team Como, has confirmed the stay of the team’s talent, Nico Paz, thus denying the news that spoke of his possible return to Real Madrid in the upcoming winter transfer period.

After reports from South America spread indicating that Real Madrid is seriously considering bringing Nico Paz back during the upcoming winter transfer period, Fàbregas came out to confirm that the Argentinian player will not leave the team in the middle of the season.

Fàbregas said in statements reported by the “Football Italia” website: “There is nothing to say, he is a Como player, and he will definitely stay with us.”

He added: “It then depends on the decision of the other club. I would not rule out Nico Paz staying here next season as well. He is ambitious, and he can build a great football career, but why not do it here in Como?”

He continued: “He contributed to our growth, and vice versa, you can see that. You can see how happy a person is through his eyes, and I think he is happy here now.”

It is worth noting that Nico Paz is linked to a contract with the Italian club Como, with Real Madrid having the option to renew his contract in the summer of 2026 or 2027.

The “Football Italia” website had previously stated that Nico Paz will not return to Real Madrid in the upcoming winter transfer period.

During the press conference preceding his team’s match against Sassuolo, the Spanish coach was asked about the possibility of meeting one of his former Chelsea teammates, Nemanja Matić, the veteran midfielder who currently plays for Sassuolo.

Cesc commented, saying: “Nemanja is a player, in every sense of the word. He is also a great man.”

He added: “I spent one of my best seasons with Chelsea playing alongside him. He excels at everything, recovers the ball and always acts correctly. Playing with him was a gift to me, even in the way he speaks, which football misses these days.”

He continued: “He is good at communicating with his teammates. He has high physical strength, but he is also excellent at carrying the ball or switching play. For me, he is an amazing football player, and one of my best teammates.”

Regarding reports that Fàbregas was considering signing Matić for Como, he said: “Yes, but his salary was high in Lyon. The age factor also had an impact; we thought about it, but we chose younger players.”

It is noteworthy that Como has only lost one match this season, and is three points behind the Champions League qualifying places.

He concluded his speech by saying: “We want to move forward in a project characterized by stability, courage, and building a distinctive identity. We need consistency to present ideas, otherwise the future will not be beautiful without clear ideas. For example, we look at what the Primavera team coach is doing and how the team is working, not whether they win or lose.”

Youth Strategy

In recent years, Real Madrid has witnessed a noticeable shift in its strategy in the transfer market, as it has become focused on signing promising young players instead of relying on ready-made stars, as was the case in the “Galacticos” era.

This new trend reflects an integrated economic and sports vision, aimed at building a long-term project that guarantees the technical and financial stability of the club.

Real Madrid has begun investing large sums in young talents from around the world, focusing on players who possess great technical capabilities and the ability to develop within the club’s environment.

Over the past years, the club has included names such as Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Endrick from Brazil, in addition to Camavinga and Tchouameni from France, who have today become key pillars in the first team.

In addition to these, Real Madrid has worked on developing its players coming from the academy, with attention paid to following up on loanees who are gaining experience in European leagues. This model has proven successful in combining high performance and economic sustainability, as the club has been able to maintain its budget without spending huge sums on big stars.

The club also pays great attention to harmony between generations, placing the current generation of young people under the supervision of experienced players such as Antonio Rüdiger and Carvajal, to ensure a smooth transition of leadership in the future.

Thus, Real Madrid is not only content with achieving championships, but also seeks to secure the team’s future for at least the next decade, with a clear vision based on discovering and manufacturing stars within the White House itself.
