
Following the tour, Salam held a press conference in which he said: “We remember the victims of the port explosion and we all hope that justice will be achieved soon.”
He added: “We in the government are working on the recovery of the economy in Lebanon, and the cornerstone of any operation is the development of the Port of Beirut. We want to put the Port of Beirut back on the map of the Arab world, and I have full confidence in the port’s board of directors to push forward its development.”
For his part, Rassamny stated: “All our efforts are focused on the Port of Beirut, and the plan is clear. After 100 days, we will present it to the media again.”
He added: “We are ready to put a decision before the Council of Ministers every week to support the plan to revive the Port of Beirut. Our goal is to increase treasury revenues, and we are giving customs today all the capabilities to achieve this.”
