Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil indicated that the government is studying the methods used to enforce age restrictions regarding the use of social media in Australia and other countries. He explained that this measure aims to protect young people from potential online risks, such as cyberbullying, financial fraud, and child sexual exploitation.
Fahmi Fadzil told reporters, “We hope that by next year, social media platforms will comply with the government’s decision to prevent those under the age of 16 from opening user accounts,” according to a video recording of his statements published by the local newspaper “The Star” online.
