فيسبوك: "ميتا" تسمح بالنشر المستعار في المجموعات مع تغييرات في القواعد

After years of requiring Facebook users to use their real names, Meta has begun to make significant changes to how people participate in Facebook groups by allowing the use of aliases and custom avatars instead of their original identity or completely anonymous posting.

According to an Engadget report, users can now choose an alias through the same tool that allows anonymous posting, provided that group administrators agree to activate this feature, and in some cases, names are approved individually.

After this feature is activated, members can easily switch between posting with their real name or alias, as long as they adhere to Meta’s community standards and terms of service.

This feature also allows users to choose an avatar from a collection of ready-made drawings, most of which appear to be of cute animals with cheerful drawings. This step is part of a series of modifications Meta is making in an effort to revive the use of Facebook groups, which the company has been trying to develop for years in order to attract more users.

During 2024, Meta added a special section to display local events within groups, and also provided tools that enable administrators to convert private groups to public in order to attract new members.

The company believes that the alias feature may increase user interaction and alleviate the psychological barriers to participation.
