تحديثات ChatGPT: خاصية المحادثات الجماعية متاحة مجاناً للجميع

OpenAI has announced the launch of group chats in ChatGPT, after a trial period limited to a small number of users. The company received encouraging feedback from these users, prompting it to make this feature available to everyone.

The new feature allows the creation of shared conversation groups, inviting friends, family, or colleagues to participate. The company confirmed that the personal ChatGPT memory of the group founder will not be available within these chats.

This step is considered a qualitative addition to the platform’s capabilities, as OpenAI believes that group chats can help users organize trips, exchange design ideas, and agree on choosing a restaurant that satisfies all tastes. It can also be used in study projects and daily work tasks, by sharing links, notes, and questions among participants in one place.

Group chats appear in a special section within the sidebar, separate from individual conversations. A new chat can be created simply by clicking on the people icon located at the top of the conversation interface. Users can invite others to join via a share link that allows sharing with up to 20 people. Any member of the group can also reshare the link with other users, if that is the desire of the chat creator.

Regarding privacy and security, OpenAI emphasizes that this feature is designed with user data protection in mind. However, it is advisable not to share sensitive information in public links, especially in work environments. It is also recommended to set clear rules for participants on how to exchange links and the scope of their use, to ensure effective group management.

This feature provides practical value in work and study environments, where small groups can manage task lists, share summaries and references, and hold quick brainstorming sessions. Families can benefit from it in organizing various activities more easily, making ChatGPT play a larger role as a social platform, instead of being limited to individual conversations and personal assistance.
