Trump indicated that “Great progress has been made with respect to Gaza and all of the other things that we’re working on. Just yesterday, the Security Council formally adopted my peace plan, and also agreed to establish the Peace Council. It is a council like no other, it will include heads of major states, and it will be an unprecedented entity in its concept.”
He also added that “Although its scope starts from Gaza, it will eventually extend to vast parts of the world. I have been honored to be chosen as the president of this council, and I think you will witness something unprecedented in terms of the nature and role of this entity. There will be no council like the one we will announce, and everyone is looking forward to being part of it.”
In a related context, Trump praised the UN Security Council’s vote in favor of a resolution supporting his peace plan in the Gaza Strip.
Through his account on the “Truth Social” platform, Trump wrote: “I congratulate the world on the amazing vote by the United Nations Security Council, which approved and supported the Peace Council, which I will head, and which includes the strongest and most respected leaders around the world.”
He continued, “This will be recorded as one of the biggest approvals in the history of the United Nations, and will lead to more peace around the world, a moment of real historical dimensions.”
It is worth mentioning that the UN Security Council approved, on Monday, a US draft resolution supporting Trump’s peace initiative in Gaza, which includes a proposal to deploy an international force and set a path leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
