The French newspaper “Le Parisien” revealed details of the hearing between Paris Saint-Germain and “Kylian Mbappé” before the labor court in the French capital.
The newspaper indicated that the French star was unable to attend the session due to his presence with Real Madrid, where he is undergoing a treatment program to recover from an injury to his left ankle, which led to his exclusion from the French national team camp.
As a result of this injury, “Mbappé” missed the Azerbaijan match, which was held on Sunday in Baku, the match in which the Les Bleus concluded their journey in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
It is worth noting that the Les Bleus have qualified for the World Cup for the eighth time in a row and the fourth under their current coach, “Didier Deschamps,” who took over coaching the team in the summer of 2012, leading them to win the 2018 World Cup title in Russia, in addition to obtaining the silver medal in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after a thrilling final decided by Argentina on penalties after a 3-3 draw in regular and extra time.
“Mbappé” (26 years old) played for the Parisian club for seven seasons, after joining from Monaco in the summer of 2017 for 180 million euros, becoming the most expensive French player in the history of football transfers.
After shining and achieving all possible local titles in the Parc des Princes, and receiving huge salaries, “Kylian” left in the summer of 2024 to fulfill his dream of joining the royal club in Spain, in a free transfer deal.
“Kylian Mbappé” is currently in the ranks of Real Madrid, which is preparing to face Elche in the Spanish League, seeking to get out of the state of instability that the team is experiencing after losing to Liverpool in the Champions League, and drawing against Rayo Vallecano in the last round of La Liga before the international break.
“Le Parisien” stated that “Mbappé’s” representatives demanded in the hearing, on Monday, financial compensation for the player amounting to 263 million euros as compensation for the damages he suffered after leaving PSG in the summer of 2024.
The newspaper added that the French international star accused officials of his former club of failing to reclassify his fixed-term contract into a permanent contract, in addition to not paying 55 million euros in salaries and bonuses, and the moral harassment that he allegedly suffered during his last years with the Parisian giant.
“Le Parisien” continued, “As for Paris Saint-Germain, which is managed by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, it is demanding compensation of 180 million euros for the former player lying to them about his promise not to leave in a free transfer deal, and Paris Saint-Germain also wants to add 60 million euros in compensation, bringing the total demands of the French club to 240 million euros.”
The newspaper also revealed that the lawyer of the Parisian club revealed in the hearing a huge offer from a Saudi club to buy “Mbappé” for 300 million euros, in July 2023, but the player rejected it, and also insisted on not extending his contract with the club, before leaving for free in the summer of the following year, 2024.
The newspaper concluded, “After arguing in court for more than three hours, it was decided to resolve this case in another session that will be held on December 16th.”
It is worth noting that the French star was frozen at the Parisian club, at the beginning of the 2023-2024 season, in response to his refusal to extend the contract, which was due to expire in the summer of 2024, before returning to participate with the team later.
In contrast, Paris Saint-Germain officials say that the re-integration of “Mbappé” into the team, at that time, came as a result of an agreement between the two parties, stipulating that the player waive part of the amounts due to him at the end of his contract, in order to preserve the club’s financial stability, while “Mbappé’s” representatives responded that these allegations are “baseless.”
The two parties have previously fought more than one legal battle, before various sports bodies, such as the French League and the French Football Federation. But both announced their inability to enforce their decisions in favor of the player, due to a preliminary hearing requested by the Parisian club before the Paris Judicial Court.
This session was scheduled to be held last May, but it was postponed indefinitely.
Apart from these legal disputes, “Kylian Mbappé” is currently experiencing a great period of brilliance, as he scored two goals in France’s 4-0 victory over Ukraine, at the Parc des Princes last Thursday, leading the Les Bleus to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, for the eighth time in a row and the 17th in their history.
