العثور على "حقل قتل جديد" في كولومبيا داخل مخبأ سري تحت الأرض

Colombian authorities seized more than three tons of cocaine prepared for smuggling to North America in a security operation carried out by the police inside a secret underground warehouse in the municipality of Uribia in the department of Guajira.

In a tweet on the “X” platform, Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated that his government, in cooperation with the National Police, had seized 3.4 tons of cocaine from an underground cache in Uribia – Guajira, and that this quantity was prepared for shipment to Central and North America. The president attached videos documenting the security operation and the seized materials to his tweet.

Petro also confirmed that this operation was carried out without any loss of life, and indicated that this cocaine shipment belongs to the National Liberation Army ELN, and that its origin is the Catatumbo region.

It is worth noting that the Caribbean department of Guajira, which is located on the border with Venezuela, is considered one of the most important main stations on drug smuggling routes, where it witnesses intense activity by groups involved in the illegal cocaine trade.

In a related context, former US President Donald Trump accused Colombian President Gustavo Petro last October of encouraging drug production in Colombia, and threatened that Washington might intervene itself to close what he described as “killing fields” if Petro did not take the initiative to do so. Trump also announced a halt to all payments or financial support provided to Colombia, accusing the state and its president of expanding the scope of drug production, and described Petro as a “drug trade leader” who is making no effort to combat it.
