الجيش الإسرائيلي يقيم "بنك أهداف" بالضفة الغربية تفادياً لأحداث 7 أكتوبر

Israeli media reports stated today, Wednesday, that the Israeli Air Force has created a so-called “target bank” in the occupied West Bank near the Jordanian border, in an attempt to prevent a recurrence of the events of the October 7, 2023 attack.

According to the Israeli channel “i24 News,” the Air Force of the Israeli army has begun, for the first time, exercises simulating an attack on targets inside Israeli settlements in the West Bank, near the Jordanian border, in anticipation of a similar attack to the October 7 attack carried out by Hamas.

The channel indicated that this step comes within the framework of the lessons learned from the Hamas attack, with the aim of possessing the ability to launch large-scale air strikes even in the event of the collapse of the central command.

According to the plan, dozens of attacks will be carried out in the first hours of any potential attack, to be expanded later to include hundreds of targets. The Israeli Air Force expects to be able to manage these operations at the push of a button by the end of the year, and provide field units with accurate and specific targets.

This strategy is scheduled to be activated on the eastern border and in other locations within the West Bank, as part of a new defense plan.

It is worth noting that the October 7, 2023 attack launched by Hamas resulted in the death of 1,221 people on the Israeli side, according to Agence France-Presse, citing official Israeli data, while the Israeli military operation that has been ongoing for about two years in the Gaza Strip has resulted in the death of 69,179 Palestinians, most of them civilians, according to figures from the Ministry of Health in the Strip.
