Paris Saint-Germain v FC Bayern München - UEFA Champions League 2025/26 League Phase MD4

Spanish coach “Luis Enrique”, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has announced the list of players who will participate in the match against Olympique Lyon today, Sunday, at the conclusion of the 12th round of the French League.

Paris Saint-Germain is facing a significant shortage in its ranks, as the quartet “Achraf Hakimi”, “Nuno Mendes”, “Désiré Doué” and “Ousmane Dembélé” will be absent due to injuries that will keep them out of the fields for several weeks.

The trio “Hakimi”, “Mendes” and “Dembélé” were injured during the 1-2 defeat against Bayern Munich last Tuesday evening at the Parc des Princes, as part of the fourth round of the Champions League.

In return, “Luis Enrique” called up the young French player of Ivorian origin, “David Boule,” to compensate for the absence of the Moroccan star.

“Boule” was born on January 22, 2009, and plays for the youth team of the Parisian club, under 19 years old.

The Moroccan star “Achraf Hakimi” is expected to be absent for several weeks, after a violent intervention from the Colombian “Luis Diaz,” the scorer of the Bavarian team’s two goals in the match, which raised concerns about his participation in the African Cup of Nations, which will be held in his country between December 21 and January 18.

In this context, “Enrique” stated in statements reported by the French newspaper “Le Parisien”: “The young player David Boule will be on the team list tomorrow, against Olympique Lyon in the league… but we must be calm, and take advantage of this period to give confidence to the players without rushing.”

Regarding the possibility of signing new players during the upcoming transfer period, the Spanish coach replied: “We are open, as usual, to everything, but there is no need to rush or worry… We will think about the pros and cons, as all teams suffer from injuries. We are dealing with it calmly and confidently, and there is no concern or controversy as the media wants, as this is a crucial moment to show our individual and collective capabilities.”

The Paris Saint-Germain squad for the anticipated match against Olympique Lyon included 20 players, namely:

Goalkeeping: “Lucas Chevalier”, “Renato Marin”, “Matvey Safonov”.

Defense: “Lucas Beraldo”, “Marquinhos”, “Ilya Zabarnyi”, “Lucas Hernandez”, “David Boule”, “Willián Pacho”.

Midfield: “Vitinha”, “Warren Zaire Emery”, “João Neves”, “Senny Mayulu”, “Queinten Nganto”, “Lee Kang-in”, “Fabián Ruiz”.

Attack: “Khvicha Kvaratskhelia”, “Ibrahim Mbaye”, “Gonçalo Ramos”, “Bradley Barcola”.

Before tonight’s match at the “Groupama” stadium, Paris Saint-Germain, the title holder in the last four seasons, occupies third place in the French League standings with 24 points, while Olympique Lyon is in fifth place with 20 points.

In the history of direct confrontations, the two teams have met in 111 matches, with the Parisian giant winning 51 of them, compared to 34 victories for Olympique Lyon, while 26 matches ended in a draw.

Paris Saint-Germain scored 194 goals, compared to 147 goals for its opponent, according to the global network “Transfermarkt”.

Paris results in the 2025-2026 season

Paris Saint-Germain has achieved seven victories since the beginning of the season in the French League, while suffering one defeat against its rival Olympique Marseille with a score of (0-1) in the Clasico of France, which was the match that was held in conjunction with the Ballon d’Or ceremony, after it was postponed for 24 hours due to bad weather, and the team also drew in two consecutive matches.

Paris Saint-Germain’s victories came against Nantes and Angers with the same score (1-0) in the first two rounds, then they won against Toulouse (6-3), and defeated Lens (2-0), before defeating Auxerre (2-0).

Before the international break in October, Paris drew away from home with Lille (1-1), and then drew again with Strasbourg (3-3) at the Parc des Princes, temporarily losing the top spot in the standings, which they later regained by winning against Brest, then drawing with Lorient, before winning against Nice by a clean goal, as part of their quest to win the local title for the fifth season in a row.

At the continental level, Paris Saint-Germain played five matches, winning four of them, where they began their season by winning the European Super Cup, by defeating Tottenham Hotspur of England on penalties, after the end of regular time in a (2-2) draw.

In the Champions League, the Parisian team began its title defense campaign with three consecutive victories, where they swept Atalanta of Italy with a quartet at the Parc des Princes, then won against Barcelona of Spain (2-1) in Montjuïc, and crushed Bayer Leverkusen of Germany (7-2) in Germany, before losing to Bayern Munich (2-1) in the fourth round.

Saint-Germain suffered a major setback last summer, when they lost the final of the first expanded edition of the Club World Cup, at the hands of Chelsea of England (3-0), although most expectations were in favor of the Parisian club before the match.

Coach “Luis Enrique’s” team also suffered from a series of successive injuries, which affected its results this season, which is what made it currently occupy third place in the French League, with 24 points, one point behind both Marseille and Lens, but it has played one less match.
