مرحاض مصنوع من الذهب معروض للبيع

The New York Times reported that billionaire Steven Cohen plans to offer a luxurious golden toilet for sale at auction this month, with a starting price of $10 million.

The American newspaper reported that Sotheby’s will organize this auction in New York on November 18, and the auction will start at a price of $10 million.

The Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan designed the “America” toilet, which weighs more than 100 kilograms of 18-carat gold. Sources indicate that Cohen purchased this unique masterpiece from the Marian Goodman Gallery in 2017.

It is worth noting that Cattelan designed only two versions of this golden toilet, but one of them was stolen from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, UK, in 2019.

The auction organizers confirm that this piece is fully functional, and those interested in purchasing it can view it closely before the auction, but sitting on the toilet is prohibited.

It is worth mentioning that Cattelan previously became famous for the “banana taped” piece, which was sold at a Sotheby’s auction last year for $6.2 million.

Cohen owns a huge art collection and is known for acquiring works that combine black humor and political connotations, most notably Jasper Johns’ famous painting “Flag” (1958), inspired by the American flag.
