According to the site, the lawsuit came after a presentation given by former Apple engineer, “Chen Shi,” to Oppo employees after joining them. “Chen Shi” joined Oppo after leaving Apple, and during the presentation entitled “Apple Sensors,” he allegedly revealed confidential data belonging to the American company.
Before leaving Apple, “Chen Shi” worked in the smart watch development department. The company had filed a lawsuit against him personally last August, accusing him of downloading 63 files from a protected folder on his work computer, in order to later transfer them to Apple’s Chinese competitor.
In the new lawsuit, Apple claimed that Oppo encouraged its new employee to disclose the secrets.
In response to these allegations, Oppo stated that “Chen Shi” was describing to his new colleagues “general engineering principles” that did not include any information he obtained from Apple, and “Shi” also expressed his willingness to cooperate with the court. (Russia Today)
