Israeli forces once again made a new incursion into the Quneitra countryside in southern Syria. Syrian state television reported today that four tanks and a number of military vehicles had entered the area.
Information received indicates that Israeli forces uprooted a number of trees and destroyed prefabricated rooms that were located inside an abandoned military barracks.
It is noteworthy that a few days ago, the Israeli army had infiltrated five military vehicles into the village of “Al-Samadaniya Al-Sharqiya” located in the Quneitra Governorate, which represents a repetition of incursions into this sensitive border area.
Since the fall of the former Syrian regime on December 8, Israel has carried out many attacks on military sites inside Syrian territory, coinciding with incursions into the south of the country and expansion into the demilitarized zone stipulated in the 1974 armistice.
Despite this, previous rounds of negotiations between the two parties did not result in reaching any agreement that would contribute to reducing tension or stopping repeated violations along the separation line in southern Syria.
