A news report indicated that Washington does not believe that Hamas has violated the ceasefire agreement.
The report quoted a high-ranking American official as saying that the United States informed Israel that it does not consider the recent events a violation that would require a military response, and confirmed that the American administration advised Tel Aviv not to take any radical measures that might lead to the collapse of the agreement.
According to the report, in the past few days, Israel requested several punitive measures, including the complete closure of the Rafah crossing and the cessation of humanitarian aid, but the Americans rejected these demands. Washington believes that Israel will have difficulty obtaining approval for a large-scale attack in the Gaza Strip at the present time.
On the ground, this morning, the Israeli Air Force carried out raids on several buildings in Rafah using fighter aircraft, claiming that “violations” in the attack area endangered Israeli army forces.
On the other hand, the Hamas movement confirmed in a statement that Israel continues to prevent humanitarian efforts to search for the bodies of its soldiers in the Gaza Strip, and indicated that it refuses the entry of joint teams from the Red Cross and the resistance, and prevents the entry of heavy machinery necessary to speed up search operations. It also accused Tel Aviv of obstructing the recovery of the bodies of Palestinian martyrs under the rubble, which increases the suffering of their families.
Hamas explained that the Israeli accusations regarding its delay in completing this file are false allegations aimed at misleading public opinion and creating pretexts to implement new aggressive steps, and it considered this a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The movement called on the mediators and guarantor parties to assume their responsibilities towards what it described as “dangerous obstacles,” and to put pressure on Israel to stop these “deceptive” practices, and to allow the competent authorities to carry out their humanitarian tasks away from political calculations and aggression.
