Slow Implementation… Trump Advisor: “Hezbollah” Agreed to Hand Over its Weapons

Massad Boulos, advisor to US President Donald Trump, stated that “Hezbollah is the one who agreed to the disarmament step.”

He pointed out that “The decisions of the Lebanese government are not implemented as quickly as expected, which delays the implementation of the terms of the agreement that was reached under international auspices.”

Boulos indicated that “The American administration pays great attention to following up on the implementation of the Lebanese-Israeli understandings that followed the last Lebanon war.”

He affirmed that “The main goal at the present time is to enhance stability on the borders and ensure the implementation of the ceasefire agreement that was reached through American and French mediation, with the support of the United Nations.”

It is worth mentioning that the recent war between Lebanon and Israel ended with international mediation efforts that led to the issuance of a UN resolution to cease fire, and tasking the Lebanese government, headed by Joseph Aoun, with working to impose its control over all Lebanese territories, in conjunction with starting procedures for the illegal disarmament under the supervision of a joint security committee.
