The Moroccan government approved on Thursday a draft decree to amend the value of family allowances provided by the “National Social Security Fund.”
This project, which came in response to a presentation by Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, aims to activate a government commitment contained in the social dialogue agreement signed on April 30, 2022, between the government and the most representative labor unions, which relates to increasing the value of family allowances for the fourth, fifth, and sixth children to become 100 dirhams per month for each child.
This decree (No. 2.23.715) amends the previous decree No. 2.08.358 issued on August 9, 2008, and will be applied retroactively from January 1, 2023, to include workers in the private sector under the same conditions that public sector workers benefited from.
