Amazon has announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence-based feature called “<Help Me Choose>,” which aims to facilitate purchasing decisions for users by analyzing their browsing and shopping behavior.
This feature is available in the Amazon app on iOS and Android, as well as on the web version, making it a valuable addition to the set of tools that the company has been developing in the field of artificial intelligence for several years.
The new feature relies on analyzing the user’s search and purchase history to provide accurate and relevant suggestions, according to a report by TechCrunch.
For example, if you are looking for a camping tent and have previously purchased cooking utensils or adventure shoes, the system will suggest a tent that accommodates four people and is suitable for all seasons. The user can also specify the price range they want or expand it to see more options.
Daniel Rausch, Vice President of Personalization at Amazon, explained that this feature helps save users time and effort, as artificial intelligence analyzes their data to provide personalized recommendations that meet their needs.
This feature relies on a range of advanced technologies, such as AWS Bedrock, OpenSearch, and SageMaker, and will be rolled out gradually in the United States before being expanded to other regions around the world.
The “<Help Me Choose>” feature is part of Amazon’s comprehensive strategy in the field of artificial intelligence and comes within a series of innovations launched by the company, including: the Rufus smart assistant to answer users’ questions about products, generative shopping guides for more than 100 categories of goods, audio summaries of reviews and products, and the Lens Live feature that allows the user to point the phone’s camera at any product to get similar suggestions.
