In a statement, MP Ibrahim Al-Moussawi, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, addressed “the attacks carried out by the Israeli army against Bekaa towns in the eastern and western mountain ranges, especially in the outskirts of Chmistar, Taria, Janta, Nabi Sheet, and the outskirts of Hermel,” expressing his strong condemnation.
Al-Moussawi affirmed that “the Israeli army forces” continue to escalate their attacks deep into Lebanese territory, which has resulted in martyrs and injuries. He considered this “a serious violation, a blatant and explicit aggression, and a continuation of the breach of the executive procedures of Resolution 1701.” He held “the responsible parties concerned and guaranteeing the implementation of the agreement” responsible for “firmly addressing the Israeli army’s violations of Lebanese sovereignty.”
He also added that this “continuous and systematic escalation by the Israeli army,” in the absence of serious action by “the international guarantor parties,” reflects “their indifference or inability,” and confirms “the Israeli army’s abandonment of any serious commitments and its lack of respect for the entire international community.”
Al-Moussawi stressed that “the Lebanese state, represented by the Presidency, the government, and the army,” is required to take immediate action and take all necessary measures “to quickly put an end to the runaway crime and stop this ongoing violation of the blood of the Lebanese and the sovereignty of the state over its territory.”
In conclusion, he stated that the continuation of “attacks against Lebanon and the Lebanese by the Israeli army,” without a firm international response, encourages more aggression, and amounts to “tacit acceptance and complicity with it in the policy of killing, destruction, bulldozing, and violation of sovereignty,” considering this a matter that is “completely condemned and contradicts the most basic principles of respecting the sovereignty of states and protecting their peoples and property.”
