In the town of Kfardounine – Bint Jbeil, the inauguration ceremony of the Mohammed Farhat Barracks took place, under the patronage and presence of the Army Commander, General Rodolphe Hikel and his wife, in addition to the participation of the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon – “UNIFIL”, Major General Diodato Abagnara, the Governor of Nabatieh, Dr. Houda Al-Turk, the family of the martyr, and a gathering of officers.

It is worth noting that Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Farhat was martyred on 10/23/2024, as a result of being targeted by the Israeli army while carrying out a mission to evacuate the wounded in the Yatar – Bint Jbeil area.

General Hikel praised the martyr’s noble qualities and courage, stressing that “he represented safety for his comrades and soldiers.”

He added: “Our martyrs are alive in our hearts despite the pain of separation. I promise you that the army will preserve every inch of the homeland and protect its citizens. This is our promise before our martyrs.”

He also expressed his appreciation for the martyr’s family, stressing the great importance of national education that begins with the family and contributes to preserving the homeland.

For her part, Mrs. Rana Farhat, the martyr’s sister, stated that “the military institution remains the safety valve for all Lebanese, and that the blood of the martyrs will bear strength and unity for the nation.”

In conclusion, the curtain was unveiled on the memorial plaque of the barracks and the memorial to the martyr.
