Virtual presenter introduces documentary film on Channel 4: A first in Britain.

In a surprising move, “Channel 4” appeared to its viewers with a news anchor who later turned out to be designed with artificial intelligence.

According to a report published by “Deadline”, the matter did not go unnoticed by some viewers who noticed early on that the anchor was not real, basing their observations on minute details such as the imperfect synchronization between lip movement and speech.

After the broadcast ended, the channel rushed to issue a statement to reassure the public and confirm that this experiment was merely an exploratory attempt. Louisa Compton, Head of News at the channel, said: “The use of AI-designed announcers will not become standard practice at Channel 4, but this experiment reminds us of how disruptive this technology is and how easily the public can be deceived with content that is difficult to verify.”
