“Samsung” is preparing to change its strategy in smartphones by using Exynos processors in the entire Galaxy S26 series. The new Exynos 2600 processor outperforms “Apple” processors and its competitor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The series is expected to launch next January with a new design.
“Samsung” is preparing to make a qualitative leap in the core of its strategy in the world of smartphones, by moving towards complete reliance on Exynos processors in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, including the Ultra model that sits at the top of the category. This step is a historical precedent, as the company has not witnessed such a comprehensive trend for more than three years.
A technical report issued by the 9toGoogle website stated that the new Exynos 2600 processor offers exceptional performance that even surpasses some of the latest “Apple” processors. Tests showed that the central processing unit (CPU) slightly outperformed the A19 Bionic processor, while the graphics processing unit (GPU) outperformed it by up to 75%.
The report also indicated that the new processor also outperforms its direct competitor, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, in graphics performance and neural network processing by approximately 30% per unit, making it one of the most powerful processors currently available in the market.
It is worth noting that this processor was manufactured using the advanced 2nm technology developed by “Samsung” itself, which contributes to reducing energy consumption and significantly increasing performance efficiency.
According to leaks, “Samsung” intends to integrate the Exynos 2600 processor into all models of the new series, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra, instead of “Snapdragon” processors. This trend represents a radical shift in the company’s policy, which previously only used Exynos processors in standard versions.
However, expectations indicate that the North American, Japanese and Chinese markets will continue to receive versions powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processors, in order to ensure compatibility with local regulatory standards.
“Samsung” is scheduled to officially reveal the Galaxy S26 series next January. The phones are expected to come with a new design that abandons the curved “Edge” edges that the company is known for, in a move described as “shocking to fans of the slim shape,” but at the same time paves the way for creating a more durable design that is more compatible with the flat screen.
It seems that “Samsung” is betting in this series on the strength of performance as a top priority, instead of focusing on aesthetics only, in order to open a new chapter in the smart processor race, which is witnessing fierce competition between technology giants around the world.
