In a memorial ceremony, MP Hassan Ezzedine affirmed that the sacrifices of the martyrs of Khiam constituted an epic of heroism. He pointed out that the steadfastness of the resistance prevented Israel from achieving its goals, and that the blood of the martyrs stopped the Israeli aggression. He also stressed the rejection of any negotiations that would lead to the normalization of relations with Israel.

During a ceremony held by Hezbollah to honor the martyrs of the city of Khiam (Marjayoun district), MP Hassan Ezzedine, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, stated that speaking in the presence of the martyrs is “difficult, and the statement is even more difficult,” emphasizing that the steadfastness of the people of Khiam and the sacrifices of the martyrs and Mujahideen have written “an epic that will be written in letters of gold.”

In a related context, Ezzedine pointed out that the martyrs “came with a high spirit, and competed to come to the front lines,” noting that Israel’s attempt to storm the land by land and occupy Khiam and the towns south of the Litani River “failed thanks to their sacrifices,” considering that those sacrifices prevented Tel Aviv from establishing a “buffer zone” to protect its front settlements from the resistance’s missiles.

The MP also affirmed that the resistance has regained its strength and health and is still “capable of confrontation at any moment,” pointing out that the blood of the martyrs stopped an aggression that called for an Israeli request for American intervention to stop the operations, and that the continuous American pressure on Lebanon aims to undermine the role of the resistance.

In his vision of the current situation, Ezzedine explained that the confrontation with the occupation is not only measured by the traditional balance of power, but by “the cause, the will, and the moral state,” recalling Yitzhak Rabin’s saying after the Sheheen ambush in 1993: “What do we do to a person who storms death while smiling?”. He concluded his speech by affirming his commitment to the martyrs, considering them “a trust in our necks” and that there is no betrayal in the covenant with their sacrifices.

In addition, he stressed the rejection of any negotiations that may lead to the normalization of relations with Israel, stating that the majority of the Lebanese people reject any official contact with the enemy, and that any such trend is unacceptable and contradicts the will of the people of the south and the people of the resistance.
