Reception of a Delegation from Aita al-Shaab and Emphasis on Supporting the Steadfastness of the People and Reconstruction
A senior official in the Supreme Islamic Shia Council received a delegation from the municipality of Aita al-Shaab and religious scholars from the town, at the council’s headquarters. The delegation included prominent figures from the town, where the delegation presented the difficult conditions experienced by the people as a result of the aggression and displacement, while emphasizing the absence of an official launch of the reconstruction workshops and the continuation of attacks.
The official welcomed the delegation, praising “Aita al-Shaab” as a sacrificing and steadfast town, expressing pride in the sacrifices of its people and the rest of the villages and cities that wrote pages of glory for the nation, until it became a symbol of redemption and resistance.
The official called on the state to “fully bear its responsibilities in rebuilding what the aggression left behind of destruction and devastation,” stressing that “it is not permissible for the government to abandon its obligations contained in the ministerial statement, and not to give the impression that it is far from the concerns of the steadfast people who held on to their land and did not leave it.”
He also called on the government to quickly pay the necessary compensation to those affected and to play an effective role in deterring the ongoing aggression and “freeing the prisoners from prisons,” warning against any negligence or omission in addressing the southern file completely and urgently.
The official addressed a salute of reverence and appreciation to the people of the southern villages, especially the villages located on the front lines, stressing that “their steadfastness is what preserves the sovereignty and dignity of the nation, after they bravely confronted the aggression and prevented its encroachment into the villages.” He renewed condolences to the martyrs, and prayed for the speedy recovery of the wounded, stressing that “the land of the south has been liberated by the steadfastness of its people and their steadfastness on their land.”
