Prime Minister Nawaf Salam chaired a meeting devoted to coordinating work between the parties concerned with the Beirut Port files, public transportation, and infrastructure in the capital, in the presence of the Chairman of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Muhammad Ali Qabbani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director General of the Beirut Port, Marwan Al-Nafi, the Mayor of Beirut, Ibrahim Zidane, and the Governor of Beirut, Marwan Abboud.

The meeting discussed a number of files of common strategic importance, most notably the development of Beirut Port and public transportation in the capital, ensuring integration between the work of the port, urban mobility plans, and infrastructure priorities in the city.

The attendees also discussed traffic management and development of the road network in the vicinity of the port, in addition to ways to facilitate entry into Beirut, reduce congestion, and address bottlenecks that affect port movement and movement within the capital.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to continue coordination and joint technical work to develop an integrated framework that enhances the role of the Port of Beirut and improves movement and connectivity in various parts of the capital.
