Al-Ahly Saudi Club entered the competition to sign Frenchman Manu Kone, the Italian Roma midfielder, in an attempt to strengthen its squad before the start of next season.

According to journalist Sasha Tavoleri, Al-Ahly management opened channels of communication with the Roma club in order to find out the terms of the deal and the financial demands to release the player, who attracted attention after his outstanding performance, especially during his participation in the 2026 World Cup.

Tavoleri indicated on Sky Sports that the Saudi club had made direct contact with Roma officials, in light of its serious desire to reach an agreement during the summer transfer period.

Al-Ahly’s path to including Koné does not seem easy, as Manchester United has entered the negotiating line, and Atletico Madrid has previously expressed interest in the player, which increases the intensity of competition for his services.

Although the French midfielder is currently inclined to experiment in the English Premier League, he does not rule out a move to the Saudi League, which keeps the door open for Al-Ahly.

Kone is 25 years old, and his market value is estimated at approximately 50 million euros. He joined Roma in the summer of 2024, and has a contract with the Italian club until 2029, where he played 82 matches in various competitions, scoring 4 goals and making 6 assists.
