The Electricité du Liban reassures everyone that its current stock of gas oil is sufficient for about nine days, based on the approved production and operational policy, whereby about 450 megawatts are produced, ensuring about 3-4 hours of daily supply on various Lebanese territories, while maintaining the priority of supply to basic and vital facilities in Lebanon (airport, port, sewage, water pumps, palaces of justice, prisons, basic departments in the state…).
It is expected that a shipment of gas oil with a tonnage of approximately 33,000 metric tons will be supplied to the Electricité du Liban by the Ministry of Energy and Water – General Directorate of Petroleum during the next few days, which is currently being finished loading at the loading port.
Emphasizing that the Electricité du Liban had taken about two weeks ago, in the wake of the renewed regional crisis, especially in the Strait of Hormuz, and the subsequent rise in the prices of oil derivatives again, all precautionary measures in order to overcome this crisis and maintain the continuity of nutrition and the continuity of the work of state facilities,
The Electricité du Liban Corporation is also studying with all concerned parties, especially the Ministry of Energy and Water, the various alternative options that can be resorted to in the event of the continuation of the current crisis and the continued rise in fuel prices. The Corporation is reassuring once again about the status of inventory and production, and it will also keep everyone informed of any developments that may arise through other statements in this regard.
