Today, the regions of southern and northern Lebanon witnessed a series of air and field movements, which included mock raids by Israeli warplanes and bombings in a number of border towns, in conjunction with operations by the Lebanese army to remove unexploded ordnance.
The National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes carried out mock raids over the northern border and the outskirts of Akkar and Hermel, at a time when a huge explosion sounded at around 11:15 a.m. in the Nabatieh area.
It turned out that the explosion was caused by a bombing carried out by the Israeli army in the town of Kafr Tibnit, where thick clouds of smoke were seen rising from the town from a long distance.
In a related context, between one and four in the morning, the Israeli army blew up a number of homes in the towns of Mays al-Jabal, Hula, Kafr Tibnit, Kunine, and Hadada.
On the other hand, the National News Agency reported that three successive explosions were heard in the Qalaia field area in the Marjayoun district, resulting from a Lebanese army unit detonating unexploded ammunition, shells and rockets, as part of operations to remove the remnants of the Israeli aggression and secure the area.
These operations fall within the program announced by the Army Command, which stipulates the detonation of unexploded ordnance in the Qalaia field during the period from July 15 to 20, daily between ten in the morning and four in the afternoon.
