The Argentine national team snatched the second qualification ticket to the 2026 World Cup final, after a dramatic 2-1 victory over England in the semi-final, in a match that witnessed great excitement until the final moments.

Messi’s teammates overturned a goal deficit to a fatal victory, after the confrontation began in a tense atmosphere, with clashes between the players following a strong intervention by Enzo Fernandez on Anderson, before Bellingham entered into an altercation with a number of Argentine players, including Messi, so that the situation was quickly contained.

The two teams did not offer much in the first half, which ended in a goalless draw, before the shape of the match changed in the second half, as Argentina applied offensive pressure, while England relied on counterattacks.

The English team succeeded in taking advantage of one of the quick attacks, after Morgan Rogers launched from the right side and passed a cross to Anthony Gordon, who put it into the net with a shot from inside the area.

But Argentina returned 5 minutes before the end of regular time, after Enzo Fernandez fired a missile from which he scored the equalizing goal.

In stoppage time, the excitement was complete, when Lionel Messi sent a perfect cross to which Lautaro Martinez rose and hit a powerful header that snatched the qualifying goal, giving Argentina a pass to the final.

The Argentine national team will face its Spanish counterpart in the World Cup final next Sunday.
