The Turkish club Besiktas announced, on Wednesday, its official contract with Belgian winger Leandro Trossard, on a three-season contract, with the option to extend for a fourth year, coming from Arsenal.

Although Trossard (31 years old)’s contract with Arsenal was to extend until 2027, he preferred to move to Besiktas in a deal worth about 18 million euros, to be paid in six equal installments over three years, according to what the club confirmed.

Besiktas said in a statement: “An agreement has been reached with the player Leandro Trossard and his club regarding his final transfer to Besiktas.”

Arsenal announced, on Tuesday, that it had granted the player permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo medical examinations in preparation for completing the deal.

Trossard played 174 matches for Arsenal in various competitions, during which he scored 36 goals, since joining from Brighton in January 2023.

Last season, he scored 6 goals and made the same in 31 matches in the English Premier League, contributing to coach Mikel Arteta’s team winning the league title after an absence of 22 years, in addition to reaching the Champions League final, where they lost to Paris Saint-Germain.

At the international level, Trossard participated in 57 matches with the Belgium national team, during which he scored 14 goals, and represented his country in four major tournaments, the most recent of which was the 2026 World Cup, where the “Red Devils” team reached the quarter-finals before losing to Spain with a score of 2-1.
