US President Donald Trump praised England captain Harry Kane, after his country’s 3-2 win over Mexico and qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

Trump wrote on the “Truth Social” platform: “Harry Kane, the England player, is a great player!!!,” commenting on the performance of the Bayern Munich striker, who scored a goal from a penalty kick in the match.

Trump’s praise of Beijing coincided with the controversy over FIFA’s decision to suspend the suspension of US national team striker Folarin Balogun, a decision that the US President welcomed, considering that FIFA had corrected a “great injustice.”

England is scheduled to meet Norway in the quarter-finals, after Erling Haaland led his country to a 2-1 win over Brazil, so all eyes will turn to a strong confrontation between the two teams.
