US President Donald Trump said that Israel refused to participate in the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, considering that the killing of Soleimani was “one of the biggest events that ever occurred in the Middle East.”
Trump added that he believed Khamenei and others in Iran were “happy” that he killed Soleimani.
Regarding the Iranian file, Trump said: “We had to take that picnic in Iran,” stressing that Iran still has some capabilities “but not many,” and stressing that it cannot be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon.
He pointed out that his administration succeeded in concluding an agreement with Iran, which he described as “the best in the history of American administrations,” adding that Tehran “made a lot” to reach the agreement, and that the Iranians “are eager to conclude a deal.”
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said that Iran launched 4 drones at tankers in the strait, confirming that they were destroyed. He also indicated that Iran targeted a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, and that damage was caused to the ship that was targeted by an Iranian drone.
Trump considered that if the Iranian nuclear program had not been eliminated, “Israel would have disappeared,” attacking what he described as “fake news” that claimed that Iran had become much stronger today than it was 4 months ago.
