In light of the conflicting positions regarding the Doha meeting, US President Donald Trump commented on the process related to the Iranian file, considering that the meeting may be important, with its results becoming clear later.
Trump said: “The Doha meeting may be important and we will know that later.”
He added: “Tomorrow, a session of talks will be held in Doha, and our team is preparing to leave for Qatar.”
Regarding the Iranian file, Trump asserted that the United States “was victorious militarily,” noting that Iran had agreed not to possess a nuclear weapon.
Trump’s statements come after Tehran denied the existence of any plans to hold negotiations with Washington in Doha in the coming days, stressing that its delegation’s visit to Qatar is dedicated to following up on the implementation of the terms of the memorandum of understanding, and has nothing to do with any talks with the American side.
