Iran denied the existence of any plans to hold talks with the United States in the Qatari capital, Doha, in the coming days, stressing that its delegation’s upcoming visit to Qatar is limited to following up on the issue of lifting the embargo on Iranian assets, and is not linked to any negotiations with Washington.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said that Tehran does not plan to hold any talks with the United States in Doha in the coming days.

Baghaei explained that a delegation of Iranian experts will visit Doha this week to work exclusively on the issue of lifting the embargo on Iranian assets, stressing that this visit has nothing to do with negotiations with the United States.

He added: “We have no plans for any level of negotiations with the United States in the coming days. The American delegation’s visit to Qatar has nothing to do with the Iranian delegation’s trip to work on implementing the terms of the memorandum.”

The Iranian position came after a report published by the “Axios” website, which stated that American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will go to Doha to meet with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani, to discuss the file of negotiations with Iran, noting that the American and Iranian technical teams are expected to hold separate meetings with the Qatari and Pakistani mediators on Wednesday.
