The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially confirmed that its delegation will head to Switzerland to participate in the technical negotiations regarding the American-Iranian understanding, while sources revealed to Al Arabiya the composition of the Iranian delegation participating in these upcoming talks.

According to the sources, the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, heads the negotiating team, and the delegation includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Deputy Supreme National Security Council Ali Bagheri Kani, Central Bank Governor Abdel Nasser Hemmati, Deputy Oil Minister Hamid Burad, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, in addition to Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei.

Fars Agency also quoted a source close to the negotiating team that Qalibaf and Araqchi will participate in the delegation’s trip scheduled to depart to Switzerland this afternoon, indicating that the specialized committees will accompany the Iranian team, as happened during previous negotiating rounds, while the Governor of the Central Bank, Abdel Nasser Hemmati, will assume responsibility for the Economic Committee.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman had announced earlier that the negotiating team would head to Switzerland to participate in technical talks on the US-Iranian understanding.

In the same context, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that technical negotiations will begin in Switzerland tomorrow, Sunday, confirming the participation of delegations from the United States, Iran, Pakistan and Qatar in these talks.

Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath sources also reported that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistani Army Commander Asim Munir will join the negotiators in Switzerland tomorrow, Sunday.

These developments come after Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, whose country plays the role of mediator between Washington and Tehran, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Tehran, where he conveyed messages of encouragement calling for not postponing the talks with the American side.

It also coincides with a positive atmosphere reported by US Vice President J.D. Vance, who confirmed the arrival of envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Switzerland, hinting at the possibility of him personally heading there during the coming period.

It is noteworthy that the previous round of negotiations between Iran and the United States was held last April in Islamabad, Pakistan.
