The Spanish national team players have drawn attention over the past few days by wearing special jackets containing frozen refrigerants, which help lower body temperature during training in the hot weather of the tournament held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Spanish Football Federation explained that the 2010 world champions are among 14 teams using this new technology developed by the German sports supplies company Adidas.
The Federation indicated that these jackets are capable of reducing the internal body temperature by up to half a degree Celsius, and also contribute to reducing skin temperature by about 13 degrees Celsius.
He stressed that adopting this technology places the Spanish national team at the forefront of teams that benefit from the latest technological innovations to maintain players’ physical readiness during the tournament.
The official account of the Saudi national team on the “X” platform published pictures of the players wearing cooling vests during recent training, in preparation for the upcoming confrontation against the Uruguay national team in the first round of the group stage.
The “Green” team begins its World Cup campaign by facing Uruguay at the “Hard Rock” Stadium in Miami, before facing Spain on June 21, then Cape Verde on the 26th of the same month.
The new cooling system developed by Adidas relies on a set of advanced technologies designed to deal with harsh climatic conditions, including flexible fabrics with a three-dimensional structure that conform to different areas of the body, in addition to materials that help absorb sweat and keep players dry for longer periods.
The system consists of three main pieces: the cooling jacket, the insulating jacket, and the cooling shoe covers, all of which are designed to work in an integrated manner with the aim of reducing the impact of high temperatures and improving the physical performance of players during matches and training.
