The National Oil Corporation said, in a press statement on Sunday, that the Mabrouk Oil Operations Company completed the trial period for testing the operational and production capacity of the Mabrouk Oil Field, which began immediately after the completion of maintenance and development operations, its rehabilitation and equipping it with modern equipment.
The production capacity of the Mabrouk field during the trial period reached about 30 thousand barrels per day of crude oil, according to the German News Agency “DPA”.
It is planned that the field’s actual production capacity will reach 40 thousand barrels per day, according to the development strategy followed, while the cumulative production since the beginning of the trial operation has reached about 2.5 million barrels.
The Corporation indicated that it is working to rehabilitate the damaged oil assets and restore their operational capacity, which contributes to supporting the Libyan economy and enhancing the stability and sustainability of the sector.
The Mabrouk field had stopped working since 2015, which led to extensive damage to its facilities and equipment and caused losses estimated at about 575 million dollars, according to previous Libyan statements.
