The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 15 people, which it said constituted a group linked to elements linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, as part of ongoing investigations into what it described as the issue of “agents linked to Iran” inside the Kingdom.
The Ministry explained in a statement that those arrested were “field enforcers” who carried out inflammatory directives and attempts to influence citizens, especially young people and young people, with the aim of pushing them to engage in acts criminalized by law.
She added that the arrests were based on investigations and security reports related to those previously arrested in the same case, noting their connection to agents of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard present in Iran.
The Bahraini Ministry of Interior confirmed that the group adopted “social incursion” methods by planting cells that work to implement the agendas of illegal entities, noting that legal procedures against the detainees are still continuing.
The Ministry also stressed that it is continuing search and investigation operations to take the necessary measures against anyone proven to be involved in the activities of this formation or to have committed acts in violation of the law.
The statement confirmed that the movements of these elements were under security monitoring and follow-up, indicating that the measures taken come within the framework of protecting community security, preserving civil peace, and confronting any attempts to incite strife or destabilize internal stability.
These developments come in light of escalating regional tension between Iran and a number of Gulf states, after Bahrain and Kuwait announced during the past days the interception of Iranian missiles and drones, while the Gulf Cooperation Council condemned what it described as Iranian attacks on member states.
