
The Brazilian star did not participate in group training, after he was transferred to a private clinic in the city of Teresopolis to undergo medical examinations and x-rays on his right calf.
Rodrigo Lasmar, the Brazilian national team doctor, revealed the details of the injury that the player suffered, saying: “Neymar arrived at the training center yesterday, and underwent all the medical examinations, which concluded with an MRI.”
He added: “The x-rays revealed that he suffered a second-degree injury to his leg, and it is expected that he will be allowed to return to the field within two to three weeks.”
The Brazilian team doctor continued: “Neymar will miss the friendly matches as well as the first match of the 2026 World Cup.” (Erm News)
