Al-Ahly had succeeded in winning the continental title for two consecutive years under the leadership of Spanish coach Matias Jaisle, in a historic achievement recorded for the Al-Jeddawi team.
Locally, Al-Ahly finished last season in the Roshan League in third place after collecting 81 points, only 5 points behind leaders Al-Nasr.
Okaz newspaper revealed that Al-Ahly Club Company is studying a proposal to cancel all the various games in the club.
The newspaper quoted sources as saying that Al-Jeddawi Club Company will be satisfied with the game of football only in all its categories.
This proposal is accepted by the majority of members, provided that all its aspects are studied and a final decision is taken during the coming period.
The club’s basketball team finished runner-up last season to the league champion Al-Ula team, while the volleyball team is one of the most important pillars of the game and the most accomplished in history, and the same applies to the handball team. (Arm News)
