The Ministry of Agriculture issued a circular obligating farmers and merchants to use agricultural medicines and pesticides officially registered with the Department of Plant Pharmacy, warning against trading or purchasing any products outside the approved regulations.

The Ministry stressed the importance of verifying the sources of these materials to ensure the safety of Lebanese agricultural production, protect public health, and preserve environmental diversity.

The circular called for strict adherence to the instructions affixed to the containers, especially with regard to specific doses, safety periods, and proper storage mechanisms.

In the same context, the Ministry confirmed the continuation of its technical and supervisory teams’ tours in agricultural markets and stores to combat the circulation of smuggled and illegal materials, as part of its plan to raise the quality of production and enhance food safety standards.
